Microsoft has issued a warning telling its users to stop using Google Chrome as a browser.

They urged people to go for Microsoft Edge – its own browser instead.

Microsoft Edge replaced Internet Explorer in 2015 and is the default browser for Windows 10 and 11.

However, Neowin noticed that Microsoft is doing everything possible to dissuade users from choosing Chrome.

He reminds users that “Microsoft Edge runs on the same technology as Chrome, but with the added confidence of Microsoft.”

Another lighter one says: “This browser is so 2008!” Do you know what’s up? Microsoft Edge. ‘

Although Google has also engaged in this behavior and sometimes sends its own words of warning.

In one case, Google told internet users, “Google recommends using Chrome, a fast and secure browser. Give it a try “

This message appears on its search engine and other services.

The news comes after Google Chrome asked users to update their web browsers without delay last month.

By updating, it allowed Chrome users to use a hidden feature that could fight hacking.

What made this warning more concerning than usual is that two of the issues detected by Google’s cyber team received the dreaded “zero day” rating, which means that the bug is most likely is already known to criminals and hackers.

Therefore, the tech giant has asked users to update themselves to protect their privacy.

The latest version of Chrome fixed eight issues with the software, two of which were deemed high risk.

Both issues have now been fixed, but only if users have updated their Chrome browser.

Google confirmed the upgrade and said, “The Stable channel has been updated to 95.0.4638.69 for Windows, Mac and Linux, which will be rolled out in the next few days / weeks.

We would like to thank all of the security researchers who worked with us during the development cycle to prevent security bugs from reaching the stable channel. “
